RALLY - DAY 2

The theme of this years FMCA Western Area Rally is Dogpatch USA, and that was the focus of yesterday afternoon's parade.  You don't need to give a bunch of senior citizens a reason to wear costumes, and act goofy, because they will, and they did at yesterdays parade.  Since we've been members, our chapter hasn't  been involved in the annual parade, other than to be spectators.  Some folks relish the spotlight, and that's OK.  But for me, watching that spotlight, and not being in it, works just fine, thank you very much!

At least this fella had a seat, and didn't have to walk.

Lil Abner's cousin was passing out moonshine disguised as water bottles.

FMCA National President Charlie Adcock was passing out dog treats.

As soon as the parade was over, Nancy and I made a run to Costco, where we picked up 12 pizza's for our chapter dinner.  If you've never sampled a Costco made pizza, they're pretty darn good, and you can't beat the price.  The total for our 12 Italian Pies was $120 something, and change.

Oh yea, I did manage to lighten the bank account, with the purchase of a Progressive Industries electrical management system, that will be installed this morning.  The Power Master system that I currently have in the coach has died for the second time, and I've lost confidence in its ability to protect the motor home.  The progressive system doesn't boost power like the Power Master, but it does shut everything down when the voltage drops below 105, or exceeds 131.  Low voltage is the most common problem when connected in RV parks, and without some type of protection, low voltage over time, can damage electrical circuit boards in everything from refrigerators, to computers, to furnaces.  Yep, even propane furnaces have circuit boards.

Today & tomorrow, our chapter heads up the ice cream social, which takes place at noon both days.  Since Nancy has taken over from Bill Hall, I'll continue to help her with deliveries to all of the groups who are working, such as the vendors.  Another mid 70's day is forecast, with lots of sunshine, and free ice cream!  Yep, life is indeed pretty awesome!
