IT'S A PARADE

Each year at this RV Rally, one of the activities is a parade.  Many of the chapters participate, and the theme changes from year to year.  "Under the Bigtop" was the headline for this years parade, with a whole bunch of mostly senior citizens, dressed up like clowns, or animals.  I guess it's just an excuse to act a bit silly, and in the process, put a smile on the faces of the parade watchers.

The California Coasters were the most colorful with their clown garb.

This fat lady wasn't singing, so the parade lasted a little longer.

Patty, Nancy, and I took our chairs over to a spot near some friends, and despite the cooler than normal temperatures, we enjoyed watching the goofy folks, and their antics.  The parade was originally  scheduled for Thursday, but that was the day we had some high winds, so yesterday afternoon was when it happened.

The rally was over yesterday, and this morning, most all of the rigs will be pulling out of the Riverside County Fairgrounds here in Indio, CA.  Our chapter volunteers to do some cleanup, and we should be finished with that job about mid morning.  From here, we're headed for Yuma, AZ, where we have a week booked at an RV park.  We have several things on the agenda in Yuma, one of which is a trip into Algodones, Mexico, where I'll get some work done by my Mexican Dentist.

Our friends, Jerry and Sue Turnshek, who live in our old hometown area in Central CA.

Patty, Nancy, and Sue, all bundled up in front row parade seats.

No, the ice cream truck didn't make it for the first of the ice cream socials on Friday, but it did show up yesterday for the second event.  With hundreds of people lined up again yesterday, if the truck had been a no show for the second time, I have a feeling we might have needed the riot police to protect us.  But, all's well that ends well, and everyone got their free ice cream.
