One last day to see friends, get final things done, before leaving Central California for our ultimate destination - Alaska. The morning started with Nancy loading her horse in the trailer, for a short ride to his temporary home while she's gone. Patty likened the move to sending one of your kids off to summer camp.
While Nancy was busy moving her horse, we set sail for our former home in Tuolumne County. We lived in Jamestown for 15 years, where we have many fond memories, and where we made lots of friends.
Two of those friends are Everett & Lori East, who we had lunch with yesterday. I recently mentioned that we were fortunate to have partnered with Art & Linda Mitchell in the opening & operation of a brand new Harley-Davidson Dealership in Jamestown. What I didn't talk about was the other business partnership that was created with Everett & Lori. They owned the commercial property where Art & I wanted to put this business, and after working out all of the details, a 3 way partnership was started regarding the land and the new building. Even though we no longer are involved in the business, that 3 way partnership in the property still exists. I think all 3 couples would agree, this was another partnership that defied all odds, and over the years, the friendships have become even stronger. It was great to see our buddies yesterday, and thanks for the lunch!
Our next stop was the Tuolumne Chamber of Commerce, where Patty left a deposit for her and Nancy, on a chamber sponsored trip to Costa Rica in November. Our last stop was to see Barbara Sistek, one of Patty's nurse buddies, who worked with her in the Hospital Emergency Room. Barb also was the nurse for my Orthopedic Doc, and it was good to sit down and visit with her.
This morning, we're heading for the Grass Valley Fairgrounds, with Nancy following in her motor home. We'll be spending several days in that area, doing a bunch of stuff with our Golden Spike RV Chapter.
What a pretty baby ..... the horse I mean!!!!
