BORDER CITY, AK TO GLENNALEN, AK

Pros & cons to staying at Border City RV Park, just across the U.S. / Canadian border, on the Alaska Hwy.  Pros - 1)  Easy in, out from Hwy, & level parking.  2)  See #1.  Cons - 1)  30 amp power at our site was extremely weak.  2)  Advertised WiFi did not work.  3)  See the above narrow bridge access to RV park.  4)  A rude dude who didn't like me rinsing the bugs off my windshield.   We're not into dry camping as much as we used to, but given a "do over", I would have found a wide pull out, or a gravel pit, rather than pay these guys $27.

About half way between Tok & Glennalen, Ms. Moose was grazing in a pond.  Check Nancy's blog for a better picture, and a telephoto shot of Mr. Moose.

The drive up to Tok was about 90 miles, where we got fuel at $4.429 a gallon.  That was the cheapest since we left Idaho!  At Tok we turned off the Alaska Hwy, and headed for Glennalen, which is at the junction of the Glen & Richardson Hwy's.  When we were checking into the Northern Lights RV park, we heard an increasingly familiar story, "our WiFi is down, and not working".  Fortunately, there was a public library just down the road, where we were able to post our blogs, and check email, etc.

 Lots of colorful wildflowers.

Northern Lights RV park - $32.50  Cumulative - $547.91
Diesel - Tok Shell 58.6 Gals @ $4.43 per Gal = $260.01
Cumulative fuel - $2,480.62
MPG - 8.5  Cumulative - 8.0
Miles traveled - 225  Cumulative - 4,509
