LAZY DAYS - TUCSON

I had high expectations when we ordered our Monaco Camelot from Tucson's Beaudry RV, back in 2007.  At the time, the economy was booming along, and Monaco was building motor homes almost as fast as they were selling.  I was quickly disappointed, not only with Monaco's quality control, but with the service we received from Beaudry.   There were issues too numerous to mention, but suffice it to say that from the time we took delivery, to the end of the manufacturers warranty one year later, I had many opportunities to experience the service (or lack of) from Beaudry RV.

When the economy started to crash a year after we picked up our new Camelot, the hand writing was on the wall for not only Beaudry, but many RV dealers and manufacturers.  Thank goodness we had a little over a year before both Beaudry and Monaco declared bankruptcy, and went out of business.  During that first year, most of the problems, and defects were corrected under the factory warranty.  The customer service at Beaudry's service department got so bad, at least for us, I refused to patronize the place, taking our business and dollars elsewhere.

Flash forward to the summer of 2009, when we were on a 12,000 mile trip around the U.S. and Canada.  Our Dometic refrigerator was problematic from day one, and while we were on the east coast, I finally said enough!  While on the phone with the head cheese of Dometic's warranty department, I told the guy that they either needed to fix the damn thing, or give us a new one!  They finally agreed to replace the entire unit, and asked where we wanted to have it installed.  At the time, we were on our way south along the east coast, headed for Florida.  Dometic gave me a list of their authorized dealers in Florida, and the only name I recognized was Lazy Days, just outside of Tampa.  The new refrigerator was shipped to Lazy Days where it was installed, and the service we received was excellent.

Subsequent to Beaudry RV filing bankruptcy, and eventually closing their doors, Lazy Days purchased the property in Tucson, including the very nice RV park.  Yesterday, I picked up our motor home from Lazy Days, where I had one of the side cameras replaced, a slide out topper awning repaired, and a problem with the air leveling system was corrected.  With lots of bad memories from the Beaudry days, I was pleasantly surprised with the great service I received from Lazy Days service department.  Most of the work was covered under Monaco's extended service plan, and Liz, the service adviser was a pleasure to work with.  Having owned a small business, I understand as well as anybody, that great service builds customer loyalty, and keeps folks coming in your doors.  Much of that philosophy is evident at Lazy Days, and it will keep me coming back to their door!
