Two days after Thanksgiving was the designated day for the Christmas tree, and all of the decorations to go up. I got the tree out of the garage, put it together, then turned the project over to the girls. While I was running some errands, they trimmed the tree, and put the rest of our holiday decorations out.
We weren't sure how Miss Snoopy would react to the tree, but our fears of the kitty trying to climb the thing, or batting the low hanging ornaments around were unfounded. In fact, there were times when she would just lay under the tree on the red skirting.
I think the new kitty spends half her day in Laila's arms.
Probably not going to happen!
Laila had accumulated a few bucks from helping Dad do some yard work, and mostly from her birthday last month. When Mom took her to Toys r Us, out of all the toys available, she picked out a kids, working sewing machine to purchase with her money. Yesterday, she and Grandma did some sewing with the new, sort of toy.
Late in the afternoon, we decided to graduate Laila from kids monopoly, to the real thing. The time & tested game came out of the closest, and we found ourselves playing long after I was going to BBQ our dinner. Laila knew the basics from the kids version, but we were surprised how quickly she caught on to making, and collecting payments with the several denominations of money. Despite her aptitude with the money, she was the first to go bankrupt, and I probably wasn't too far behind. Grandma had accumulated Boardwalk, and Park Place, had hotels on both, causing Laila to go bust when she landed on the big Cuhuna!
Since it was getting late, and I still had the tri-tip to cook, we declared Grandma the winner, and ended up eating dinner a couple of hours later than planned. After dinner & a Dr. Seuss movie, it was the end of a great day with our Grand Daughter.
