LEAVING LACONNER

We've been here about a week, and it's been fun exploring the area. Even though we've been here before, during this stay, we've had more time to check out a few things that we didn't in the past. It was a real treat to find Bill & Susan, who we had not seen for about 9 years. This morning, our forwarded mail should be waiting for us at the LaConner Post Office, so that's first on the list of things to do. Then, we'll be hooking up the jeep, dumping the tanks, and heading south toward Pacific Raceways, near Auburn, WA. Our race friends have been heading west from the last race in Norwalk, OH., and it will be good to see them at the beginning of what is known as the Western Swing. In NHRA language, the Western Swing is 3 races on successive weekends, beginning in Seattle, then Sonoma, CA, and ending in Denver, CO. We'll probably be parked for a few days at the Muckleshoot Indian Casino, near the track, then we're headed for Patty's favorite place, the Pacific Coast.
