Another trip to the Hospice, then Saint Vincent DePaul' thrift stores, and several more boxes of stuff are now gone! This was my first trip with a load of donations to these local charities, but the receiving folks at Hospice already know Patty by first name, and that we're moving to Tucson. The fact that we're not having a garage sale is a big benefit to these thrift stores, as we've really lightened our load to Tucson, with some pretty good stuff being donated.
There's only a few more things in the house to be packed, and that should all be done by the end of the day. Mid afternoon yesterday, in addition to our stops at the two thrift stores, we took care of a couple of other errands, had lunch at IN N OUT, then decided we owed ourselves a movie. We hit the theater, watched "Flight", directed by my pal Bob Zemeckis, who directed Back to the Future, when I co-starred with Michael J. Fox. Of course, I say that with tongue in cheek, as Zemeckis is not really my pal, and my co-starring role was really just that of a non-speaking extra in that film. But, if you know exactly where to look, I really did appear in a major motion picture, and those several weeks back in 1991 were quite the unique experience.
We had another showing of the house yesterday, but still no offer. With no mortgage payment, and no need to sell right away, we'll just wait until the right person, or couple comes along. Since we don't have a lot more to do before the movers get here on Sunday, and we're ahead of schedule, we just might have to treat ourselves to another movie today.
