After 2 1/2 days of unloading boxes, and trying to get the house a little bit organized, we took a break, and headed for the stores. First stop was Home Depot, where I picked up the first batch of insulation & sheet rock for the garage. Second stop was Costco, and we actually got out of there without spending what seems like the minimum of $100. Third stop was Wal Mart, and that's where we blew the budget.
Lots of groceries, a new copy machine, additional printer cartridges, and a bunch of other stuff, left the checking account considerably lighter than when we walked in the door. By the time we got back to the house, it was mid afternoon, and I didn't have much ambition left to start any major project. I did get the enclosed trailer unloaded, with the motorcycles and scooter now in the garage, and the trailer parked outside. With so many things to do, I'm finding it necessary to prioritize these projects, so that the proverbial cart doesn't get in front of the horse. One example is the need to get the south wall of the garage insulated, and sheet rocked, before I re-assemble all of the shelving that will be in front of that wall. If I don't do that first, I know that once the shelves are all loaded with stuff, they'll probably never get moved away from the wall.
We're still pretty much living in the motor home, trying to decide what to do with our bed in the house master bedroom. Patty doesn't sleep well on the water bed mattress, so I think we're going to go the air bed route. We have a select comfort air bed in the motor home, and with individual mattresses adjustments, we both have settings that are comfortable. We both sleep pretty well on the air bed, so I think that's the answer for the bed in the house. Finding an air mattress at a reasonable price will be the next challenge.
