Pacific Raceways, the location of the NHRA, Seattle Drag Race, is about 7 miles from where we have the motor home parked, at the Muckleshoot Indian Casino, in Auburn, WA. We drove over to the track yesterday morning, and visited with most of our race friends. Pictured above, is Shirl Kase, with Patty and Sami. Shirl & Bob are our good friends who just recently had to have their Beagle (Hunter) put to sleep. Over the last 7 years, they have loved our dog as much as we loved Hunter, so, taking Sami to the track was kind of a short Beagle fix for Bob & Shirl. We do get attached to these critters we sometimes call pets, and losing one is pretty darn hard. I'm dreading the day we have to make that decision with Sami, who is 12 1/2 years old. We had a chance to see Jim Maxie, who is the MainGate race manager that we have always liked and respected. Jim has also been the guy in charge of the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) in Vegas, which is no more, due to another company getting the merchandise contract. And, the Tucson Rodeo which is still in question, due to the loss of the NFR. We visited, or said hi to the following, in no particular order - Bob & Shirl, Kurt & Phyllis, Ken & Diane, Steve & Carol, Dave & Betty, Cat & Sam, Frank (missed Suzie), Mike, Joe, and Patrick As the years go by, our race family continues to get smaller, as folks move on to do other things. It was nice to see our friends, most of which we last saw at the Phoenix race in February. This morning, we're off to downtown Seattle, for a stop at Pike's Market, and whatever else we happen to stumble across.

RACE FRIENDS
